The Role We have a 12 -month contract opening for a senior litigation lawyer who is experienced in advising on commercial litigation and dispute resolution, ideally in relation to life insurance and other financial services businesses. You will partner with key stakeholders/management to provide pro-active, strategic and commercially focused legal support on large scale complex disputes, litigation, and regulatory matters. This role will suit an agile and adaptable candidate who thrives in a fast paced, dynamic working environment Some of the things you will be accountable for include: Take a lead role in managing the conduct and resolution of commercial litigation, disputes and regulatory matters. Engage, and work together with, the Head of Legal, Chief Risk Officer and senior management/stakeholders, to determine litigation strategies that meet Resolution Life’s objectives. Manage, instruct and lead external law firms as necessary. Effectively communicate with senior management/stakeholders around key legal issues and potential risks to the Resolution Life business. Provide commercially focused high-quality legal advice. Support and mentor other team members What you bring: Unrestricted NSW practicing certificate. Demonstrated experience in high stakes commercial litigation and dispute resolution. Top-tier or mid-tier training and/or similar experience in an in-house role in a large complex organisation. Exposure to, and knowledge of, some or all of the following areas of law: life insurance, reinsurance, superannuation, financial services. Experience, confidence and a sophisticated approach in dealing with senior management/stakeholders.
