We have an exciting opportunity for a junior lawyer to join our small legal and franchising team on a permanent basis. The role is based in Brisbane, but we support flexible working and are happy to discuss what this means for you. See yourself in our team You will help provide legal and compliance support to the White family and their key executives and all facets of the businesses which form part of the Ray White group. You will help General Counsel minimise disruption to businesses due to legal and compliance issues, assist businesses in complying with their broad legal obligations and maximise returns from business by leveraging sound legal and compliance practices. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you will be vital in helping to shape strategic, commercial and solutions-based advice and transactional legal support services to senior management, other stakeholders and various entities in the Ray White group. We are open to hearing from candidates with experience in any area of law, however, expertise in intellectual property, privacy, commercial or competition law is preferred. Existing in-house experience will be considered favourably but is not essential. Do work that matters Work as a member of the legal team and assist General Counsel provide ongoing legal advice to the entire business on all matters, including franchising law issues Draft, review and negotiate contracts for all areas of the business and assist with the contract management process for the group Advising, reporting on and assisting with significant regulatory issues and developing appropriate risk mitigation strategies, policies and processes Provide ongoing in-house legal compliance training and information updates to the business Advise on disputes and manage all litigation matters for the business Trademark protection and management of disputes Liaise with and instruct external counsel as required across jurisdictions We’re Interested In Hearing From People Who Have A legal qualification, including current practising certificate A minimum of 2 to 4 years post qualification experience Good analytical, organisational, communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build lasting relationships across large and varied stakeholder groups Commercially literate and interested in helping to lead responses to complex regulatory and legal investigations and proceedings A desire to develop their people management skills and aim to work independently and proactively on multiple matters The benefits of working for us include Access to discounts with well-known brands across a variety of sectors including; health and wellbeing, travel, banking, and retail, including Bupa and HCF Private Health Insurance Access to our Employee Assistance Program for yourself and eligible family members Great collaborative environment Joining a family owned iconic company that continues to grow as a leader in the industry This is a great opportunity to work with a fantastic, friendly team in a busy but fun and supportive environment.
