CLICK HERE LOCATION PROFILE A small rural sugar town approximately 60km south of Cairns, Babinda is home to around 1260 residents. The traditional people of the Babinda area are the Wayurr Yidinji people, and the town's name comes from the Wanyurr Yudinji words 'Bunna Binda' meaning 'water passing over your shoulder'. The area is home to beautiful beaches, great fishing, groovy Art Deco heritage listed buildings and fascinating Aboriginal legends such as that of the Boulders. REMUNERATION AND BENEFITS While the base salary range for teachers is the same across the state; rural, remote and even regional locations provide additional financial benefits and incentives that are above and beyond the base salary.
