Senior Product Design Engineer Full time / staff position Sydney area Hybrid options available Join a successful and growing product design consultancy working on innovative products across medical, consumer, industrial and advanced technology sectors. This role offers the opportunity to work across the full product development lifecycle, from front-end innovation and concept generation through to detailed engineering, design for manufacture and production release. You'll help shape early-stage product ideas, explore user needs, evaluate technical feasibility and develop compelling concepts before transforming them into robust, manufacturable solutions. Working directly with clients, suppliers and multidisciplinary teams, you'll take ownership of projects from ambiguity through to reality. What you'll bring Strong product design and engineering capability Excellent CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred) Experience developing mechanical or electromechanical products The ability to generate, communicate and develop product concepts A practical understanding of design for manufacture and production processes Creativity, curiosity and strong problem-solving skills Confidence working with clients, suppliers and multidisciplinary teams The ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with others What we're looking for We're interested in people who can operate comfortably at both ends of the product development process: Creating and developing innovative product concepts Managing uncertainty and exploring multiple solution pathways Translating ideas into detailed engineering outcomes Balancing user needs, technical requirements and commercial realities Designing products that are both desirable and manufacturable You'll be self-motivated, adaptable, detail-oriented and passionate about creating exceptional physical products.
