We are supporting a global leader in digital engineering and enterprise modernisation to appoint a Lead Quality Engineer & Project Lead – Quality for their Melbourne team. We are seeking an experienced performance testing professional to take ownership of performance engineering strategy and delivery across complex enterprise projects. This role combines deep technical hands-on expertise with leadership responsibility, working directly with clients and internal centres of excellence to deliver measurable quality outcomes. This position plays a critical role in defining and implementing performance test strategies, leveraging industry-leading tools and AI-driven approaches to ensure enterprise applications meet the highest standards of performance, scalability, and reliability. Your key responsibilities: Define and implement performance test processes, strategies, and approaches for complex test requirements, securing buy-in from stakeholders across the business Define performance test assessment strategies for client project requirements, including competitive analysis and technology recommendations through demos and proof of concepts Provide a practical approach to complex product testing across performance test scenario identification, workload modelling, and strategy across the full technology stack Review product requirements, functional specifications, and design documentation to determine and prepare automated performance test cases Lead performance test design and automation activities, including AI-led performance test automation, results analysis, issue identification, reporting, and overall project delivery Work directly with clients and internal centres of excellence to ensure alignment on quality objectives and delivery outcomes Design and implement testing strategies leveraging leading performance testing tools across UI, API, and data layers Drive the adoption of AI and GenAI capabilities across the performance testing and engineering landscape Your role requirements: Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent qualification Minimum 5 years of experience in software testing, with 4 to 5 years focused on software automation, associated tools, frameworks, and infrastructure Deep knowledge of leading performance testing tools including HP Performance Center, JMeter, NeoLoad, and Gatling Demonstrated experience in workload modelling, performance test scripting, results analysis, and performance engineering Experience leading performance testing engagements with teams of 5 to 8 resources Hands-on experience leveraging AI and GenAI across performance testing and engineering Experience working directly with clients and within centre of excellence environments Exceptional communication skills in written and spoken English Prior development experience and knowledge of additional performance test tools will be highly regarded What’s on offer: Competitive salary package plus benefits Opportunity to lead performance engineering initiatives within a global technology organisation Exposure to cutting-edge performance testing tools, AI-driven automation, and enterprise-scale projects Collaborative and high-performing team environment based in Melbourne Strong focus on professional development, with quarterly promotion cycles and company-sponsored certifications Long-term career development and leadership progression within a global organisation How to apply: To express your interest, please use the apply button.
