ROLE – Design Manager SALARY - $160,000 - $200,000 per annum, dependent on experience TYPE – Permanent LOCATION – Adelaide, SA My client is a leading engineering business who deliver material handling projects. They are looking for an experienced Design Manager to join their team in Adelaide. The Design Manager will ideally have the following attributes: A background in Mechanical Engineering, Design and Project Management Previous experience in materials handling, construction, mining, minerals processing or a similar heavy engineering environment Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline Proven experience leading multidisciplinary design teams and delivering complex engineering projects Strong understanding of engineering design processes, standards and quality assurance Experience using 3D CAD software such as Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo or similar Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage budgets, resources and project schedules Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Able to mentor, develop and support engineering teams Commercial awareness with the ability to balance technical excellence and project objectives The Design Manager role will involve: Leading and managing a small design team across multiple engineering projects Full design lifecycle from concept through to manufacture, installation and commissioning Reviewing and approving engineering designs, calculations and technical documentation Working closely with project managers, clients and other engineering disciplines to ensure successful project delivery Ensuring compliance with relevant engineering standards, company procedures and quality requirements Supporting the development and continuous improvement of engineering processes and design standards Providing technical guidance, mentoring and leadership to engineers and designers Managing design risks, resolving technical challenges and driving innovative engineering solutions Supporting business growth through client engagement, proposal development and technical input where required If you are interested in this position, please apply with an up-to-date CV as soon as possible.
