Job Title: Computer and System Engineer Job Type : Full-time / Permanent Experience: Minimum 2 years Work Authorization: Must be eligible to work in Australia Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Computer and System Engineer to join our IT infrastructure team. You will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining computer systems, networks, and software applications that meet the needs of our organization. This role involves a mix of hardware and software engineering responsibilities with a focus on performance, security, and scalability. Key Responsibilities: Analyze system requirements and design efficient computing systems to meet business needs. Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems, application software, and system management tools (Windows, Linux, macOS). Monitor system performance and ensure the reliability and availability of infrastructure. Manage security tools, firewalls, and patch management solutions. Maintain documentation related to system configuration, processes, and service records. Collaborate with developers, network engineers, and IT support staff to ensure optimal system performance. Evaluate new technologies and provide recommendations for improvement or modernization. Required Skills & Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in system engineering or IT infrastructure roles. Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, UNIX). Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing/switching). Experience with Active Directory, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python. Good understanding of cybersecurity practices and system hardening. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field. Certifications such as CompTIA Network, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) are a plus. Soft Skills: Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Willingness to stay updated with emerging technologies.
