The Role We're looking for a talented Azure Data Engineer to join our growing Sydney team. Working within an agile, collaborative squad, you'll partner with clients to understand their business needs, design modern data solutions, and deliver robust pipelines built on the latest Azure technologies. Experience Required A minimum of 8 years' experience in data engineering, with demonstrated expertise across the Azure ecosystem and enterprise-scale data platforms. What You'll Bring 8 years of hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory and Power BI Strong proficiency in Python, PySpark and SQL, with working knowledge of both relational and non-relational databases Proven experience with Guidewire policy and claims data models Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and large-scale data processing Experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines across Data Lake and Data Factory environments Familiarity with ADLS storage, Key Vault, Azure Log Analytics, Alerts and Dynatrace Experience designing workflows in Logic Apps Hands-on expertise with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps Knowledge of SCD Type 1 and Type 2 data cleaning methodologies Strong communication skills and a genuine team-first mindset Day-to-Day Responsibilities Design and enhance data pipelines that handle structured and unstructured data at scale Build ETL solutions integrating millions of records from diverse sources Develop pipelines connecting Guidewire policy and claims data to the broader data platform Deploy and manage code across multiple environments using Azure DevOps Monitor production pipelines and proactively resolve issues Collaborate closely with your squad and keep stakeholders clearly informed of progress Education A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a closely related field. Certifications A current Microsoft Azure certification is required. Preferred certifications include: DP-203: Azure Data Engineer Associate AZ-900: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator Salary: $110,000 – $125,000 AUD per annum, commensurate with experience Location: Sydney, NSW (hybrid options available) Ready to make your mark?
