Automotive Electrician VPT Mechanical Solutions Kalgoorlie-Boulder, WA 6430 Full-time | Permanent Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 per annum plus superannuation About the Role VPT Mechanical Solutions is seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Electrician to join our team in Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Western Australia. This full-time position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining electrical and electronic systems in a wide range of vehicles and equipment while ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard. Key Responsibilities Diagnose electrical and electronic faults using specialised testing and diagnostic equipment. Inspect, dismantle, repair, and replace faulty electrical and electronic components and assemblies. Install and commission electrical systems, wiring, and electronic components in motor vehicles and mobile equipment. Connect and test power-operated accessories and vehicle equipment to ensure correct operation. Adjust and calibrate engine management systems and electronic control units where required. Test, repair, and replace alternators, starter motors, generators, voltage regulators, and other electrical components. Repair or replace damaged ignition systems, wiring harnesses, and electrical circuits. Replace defective electrical components including fuses, switches, relays, lamps, and sensors. Conduct testing to verify repairs and ensure vehicles meet operational and safety standards. Maintain accurate service records and comply with workplace health and safety procedures. Skills, Qualifications and Experience To be considered for this position, applicants must meet one of the following: Hold an AQF Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology (or equivalent qualification); or Have at least three (3) years of full-time relevant work experience as an Automotive Electrician. The successful applicant will also demonstrate: Strong knowledge of automotive electrical and electronic systems. Proficiency in using diagnostic and electrical testing equipment. Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals. Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Good communication skills and a strong commitment to workplace health and safety. A current driver's licence is desirable.
