Telecommunications Field Engineer We are seeking an experienced Telecommunications Field Engineer to join our team. The role involves hands-on field work supporting the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of telecommunications networks, including fibre optic and other carrier infrastructure systems. You will play a key role in ensuring reliable network performance, diagnosing complex faults, and supporting the delivery of high-quality telecommunications projects in the field. Key Responsibilities Plan, design, and support telecommunications network infrastructure and associated equipment. Install, commission, and monitor telecommunications networks, including fibre optic systems. Conduct testing, fault finding, and performance evaluation of network equipment and infrastructure. Identify and resolve complex technical issues in telecommunications networks. Carry out site inspections, surveys, and quality assurance checks. Provide technical advice and support to clients, contractors, and internal teams. Ensure all work complies with safety standards, industry regulations, and project requirements. Maintain accurate documentation, test results, and field reports. Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and project teams to deliver successful outcomes. Skills & Experience Relevant qualification in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 2 years’ experience in telecommunications on-field required. Strong understanding of telecommunications systems, structured cabling, and network infrastructure. Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and network plans. Hands-on experience with testing, commissioning, and fault diagnosis of network systems. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex technical issues. Good communication skills and ability to work with clients and team members. Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to various sites. Experience working in carrier networks or large-scale fibre deployments. Civil or rigging experience in telecommunications infrastructure. Additional electrical or communications certifications.
