JOIN OUR TEAM We are seeking a motivated and creative Communications and Engagement Officer (Level 5) to join the team in a casual capacity, supporting the delivery of engaging communications, marketing initiatives, and stakeholder engagement activities within our work unit. This is an exciting opportunity for a communications professional who enjoys creating compelling content, building strong stakeholder relationships, and contributing to impactful engagement strategies across a range of digital platforms. ABOUT THE ROLE Reporting to the Manager, the Communications and Engagement Officer provides proactive, practical, and efficient communications, engagement, and administrative support. The role plays a key part in coordinating and delivering communications activities that enhance awareness, engagement, and visibility across the Faculty and broader University community. This role is a KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Act as a key liaison for communications and media activities, including website content, social media, electronic direct mail (EDMs), newsletters, video production, and SharePoint platforms. Support the Manager in the planning, development, coordination, and delivery of communications projects and initiatives. Create, edit, curate, and publish engaging content across multiple digital channels in accordance with UNSW style guidelines and deadlines. Source and edit images and assist with basic design requirements for digital and social media communications. Build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across the Faculty and Division. Monitor digital and social media channels to ensure content remains accurate, relevant, and up to date. Collect and analyse communications and engagement metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and maximise performance. Contribute to a collaborative team environment and support the successful delivery of communications and engagement objectives. Comply with all University health and safety policies and procedures. ABOUT YOU To be successful in this role, you will have: A degree in communications, marketing, media, public relations, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience. Demonstrated experience creating and publishing content across multiple communication channels. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail. Proven ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders. Experience managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with digital content management, design, and social media platforms.
