Job description PB 30 Pty Ltd is a specialised premixed concrete transport company providing reliable and professional multi-combination and Heavy-combination (MC/HC) truck services under subcontract agreements with major concrete suppliers across Australia. Operating from Hemmant in Brisbane’s port and industrial precinct, PB 30 supports local and regional infrastructure projects through safe, timely delivery of premixed concrete to construction sites. We are currently seeking to employ an experienced MC/HC Driver on a full-time permanent basis. This role is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of multi combination (MC/HC) vehicles — including B-Double and heavy combination units — to transport premixed concrete between batching plants and customer sites. This position is required due to ongoing growth in project demand and the need to maintain safe, compliant and reliable transport capacity within our fleet. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES HR Driver – Construction / Quarry Transport: Operate Heavy Rigid (HR) vehicles to transport premixed concrete, aggregates, construction materials, and equipment between quarries, plants, depots, and job sites in Brisbane and surrounding areas Conduct daily pre-start and post-operation inspections of the vehicle, promptly reporting any mechanical faults, safety concerns, or compliance issues Safely load, secure, and unload materials in accordance with load restraint requirements, site procedures, and workplace health and safety standards Follow allocated delivery routes and schedules while complying with fatigue management, speed limits, road rules, and transport regulations Complete delivery dockets, manifests, logbooks, run sheets, and other required transport documentation accurately and on time Comply with Chain of Responsibility (CoR), company policies, site safety rules, and relevant transport industry requirements at all times Maintain vehicle cleanliness, presentation, and basic upkeep to ensure the truck remains safe, roadworthy, and professional in appearance Communicate effectively with dispatchers, quarry staff, plant operators, customers, and site supervisors regarding delivery progress, delays, hazards, or access issues Assist with safe manoeuvring of vehicles on construction sites, quarries, and confined work areas while following traffic management directions Participate in toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and ongoing driver training as required by the company SELECTION CRITERIA / ATTRIBUTES - HC Driver – Construction / Quarry Transport: Valid Australian HC licence (Heavy Combination) with a safe driving record Minimum 2 years recent experience operating heavy combination or similar heavy vehicles in construction, quarry, or related transport operations Demonstrated experience loading, transporting, and delivering concrete, aggregates, or similar construction materials Sound knowledge of road transport laws, fatigue management, and Chain of Responsibility obligations Ability to perform basic vehicle checks and minor troubleshooting Strong focus on safety, reliability, and professional conduct at customer and quarry sites Good communication skills and ability to follow dispatch instructions accurately Physically capable of performing manual handling and site-specific tasks safely Previous experience in premixed concrete, quarry, or civil construction transport will be highly regarded Applicant screening question: Please outline your experience operating HR or heavy combination vehicles in construction or quarry transport, including your understanding of road safety, load restraint, and fatigue management obligations.
