Job Description About the role We are seeking a qualified Electrician / Duty Technician to join our hotel maintenance team on a full‑time, permanent basis. This is a hands‑on role suited to a reliable trade professional who enjoys fault‑finding, preventative maintenance, and working in a fast‑paced hotel environment. You will be responsible for day‑to‑day electrical and general maintenance across the hotel, ensuring all services, plant, and guest areas are operating safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Queensland regulations. Qualifications About you Key Duties Electrical fault‑finding, repairs, and minor installations Preventative maintenance of lighting, power, emergency systems, plant rooms, and guest rooms Responding to maintenance requests and breakdowns during rostered duty shifts Testing, compliance, and safety checks in line with QLD Electrical standards Completing job reports and maintenance records Assisting with general maintenance tasks where required (basic plumbing, carpentry, patching, painting) Working rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays as part of Duty Technician coverage What You Must Have Current QLD Electrical Work Licence – essential Strong fault‑finding and reactive maintenance experience Solid understanding of WHS and electrical compliance Ability to work independently and manage workloads Good communication skills and a professional approach Must have full work rights in Australia Highly Regarded Experience Hotel, resort, or commercial building maintenance experience Exposure to fire panels, emergency lighting, BMS, or HVAC plant Trade‑minded, practical approach with strong problem‑solving skills What We Offer Full‑time, stable employment One permanent site – no daily travel between jobs Supportive team environment Varied work with no two days the same Additional Information So, when will you be joining us?
