Student Engineer (Civil) PO1 - Asset Management Role Type: Part-time during university semesters (2–3 days per week) and full-time during university breaks Eligibility: Applicants must be currently enrolled in their second or third year of a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) accredited under the Washington Accord. Contract Period: May 2026 - November 2026 Role Overview As an Undergraduate Student Engineer (Civil), you will work under the guidance of experienced engineers to support road infrastructure projects, with a focus on heavy vehicle access and permit coordination. The role provides hands-on experience across design, construction, maintenance, and project support activities while developing practical engineering and professional skills. Key Responsibilities Assist in reviewing and managing workflows related to heavy vehicle access and permit processing to ensure requirements are met efficiently. Help identify potential constraints or risks on heavy vehicle routes and support discussions around route changes or improvements where required. Support the planning and coordination of road and bridge maintenance activities, including preparation of work instructions. Develop practical engineering skills by: Calculating quantities for construction materials Reviewing and analysing material test results Identifying quality issues and non conformances Supporting risk assessments and control measures during construction Assist with the delivery of projects, or components of projects, under supervision. Support planning activities to ensure outcomes are effective, cost?conscious, and aligned with industry best practice. Follow established quality management procedures and contribute to accurate documentation. Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to support smooth project delivery.
