If you’re an embedded software engineer who enjoys getting close to the hardware and solving complex system-level problems, this is the kind of role that keeps things interesting. You’ll spend your time building and debugging real embedded systems, with the added opportunity to work directly with customers when it matters. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their work. The core focus is still hands-on embedded development — working across microcontrollers, embedded Linux, and tightly integrated hardware/software systems — but you’ll also have the opportunity to step beyond the desk and engage with customers when it counts. That might mean jumping on a call to troubleshoot an issue, helping guide an implementation, or providing technical insight that genuinely unblocks a project. It’s a role where strong engineering fundamentals come first, but communication and problem-solving in real-world scenarios are just as valued. What's You'll Need: 5 years of industry experience in embedded software design. Experience with STM32/NXP microcontrollers or similar. Strong embedded C and C++ skills. Experience with Linux / Linux kernel / device tree. Able to troubleshoot various kernel issues with the help of the gdb server or host-based debugger. FPGA design skills desirable. Must be comfortable handling technical support phone calls Excellent communication skills. You must have working rights in Australia to be eligible for the role.
