Job Title: Snowflake Engineer (Cortex & AI Capabilities) Location: Sydney/Melbourne Experience: 7 Years Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Snowflake Engineer with strong expertise in Snowflake data platform and Snowflake Cortex (AI/ML capabilities). The ideal candidate will play a key role in building scalable data solutions, enabling advanced analytics, and leveraging AI-driven insights within the Snowflake ecosystem. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Snowflake Implement and optimize data models (Star/Snowflake schema) for analytics and reporting Work with Snowflake Cortex to build AI/ML-powered data solutions and intelligent applications Develop and manage ELT/ETL processes using tools like dbt, Airflow, or similar Optimize Snowflake performance, cost, and query efficiency Integrate Snowflake with various data sources (APIs, streaming, structured/unstructured data) Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions Ensure data governance, security, and compliance best practices Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in a timely manner Required Skills & Experience 7 years of experience in data engineering or related roles Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake (architecture, data modeling, performance tuning) Experience working with Snowflake Cortex / AI features (LLMs, semantic search, etc.) Proficiency in SQL and Python Experience with ETL/ELT tools like dbt, Informatica, Airflow, or similar Good understanding of cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP) Experience with data warehousing concepts and big data technologies Familiarity with REST APIs and data integration techniques Good to Have Experience with Snowpark (Python/Scala/Java) Knowledge of Generative AI use cases within data platforms Exposure to data governance tools and frameworks Experience with real-time/streaming data pipelines (Kafka, etc.) Snowflake certifications
