Your new role We have an opportunity for an individual to join our Administrative Law & Legislation team as Senior Lawyer on a full-time ongoing basis. Reporting to the Managing Principal Lawyer, the role will provide legal advice on a range of administrative law and legislation matters affecting or involving IBAC. Duties include: * Providing complex oral and written legal and advice on administrative and public law matters, legislative reform and public interest disclosures affecting or involving IBAC to other business units within IBAC * Assessing and responding to issues concerning IBAC's statutory and compliance obligations under the IBAC Act and any other relevant laws * Drafting high-level reports and submissions, and maintaining policies, procedures and systems that apply to IBAC * Providing training, guidance and support to IBAC staff in meeting their legal obligations. Our requirements / Your skill set We are looking for candidates with the below experience and capabilities: * Bachelor of Laws or equivalent legal qualification from a recognised tertiary institution * Admission to practice as an Australian Lawyer. * Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality legal advice with precision and accuracy * Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in administrative law (or closely related public law experience) and legislation Due to the requirement to attain a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance candidates must be an Australian citizen at the time of application.
