Requirements HV Engineer HENDRA, BRISBANE | HV / MV DESIGN | INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS Due to continued growth across HV and MV infrastructure projects, CV Infrastructure Services is expanding its HV Design team and looking for an experienced HV Engineer to join us based in Hendra, Brisbane. This role suits an engineer who enjoys combining technical design work with real project exposure — working closely with design teams in the office and supporting works on site through investigation, verification and construction support. The Role As an HV Engineer, you’ll play a key role in the delivery of high-voltage electrical and communications infrastructure projects, contributing across design, coordination and construction phases. You’ll be involved in both office-based design and site-based engineering support, ensuring designs are practical, compliant and deliverable. Key Responsibilities Design and develop HV and LV electrical systems, including 11kV and 33kV switchgear, transformers and underground distribution networks Prepare single line diagrams (SLDs), schematics, cable sizing and equipment layouts for substations and reticulation networks Conduct and review load flow, fault level, earthing and protection coordination studies using ETAP or equivalent software Review and design earthing systems in line with Australian Standards and utility requirements Apply AS2067, AS/NZS 3000 and relevant Australian Standards throughout all project phases Design HV substation auxiliary systems including AC/DC supplies, battery systems, protection, control and lighting Review civil and structural designs to identify clashes or constraints Develop technical specifications, schedules and engineering reports Provide technical support during construction, testing and commissioning Liaise with clients, utilities and multidisciplinary teams Participate in Safety in Design (SiD), risk assessments and QA processes Contribute to continuous improvement, standardisation and design optimisation initiatives What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Actively working toward RPEQ registration (or eligible to apply) Experience in high-voltage system design and underground distribution networks Strong understanding of earthing systems, fault current analysis and potential rise Working knowledge of AS2067, AS/NZS 3000 and relevant Australian Standards Strong technical documentation and communication skills High attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset Software Experience (Required) AutoCAD ETAP PowerCAD Why Join CV Infrastructure Services CV Infrastructure Services is part of the broader CV Services Group, delivering complex electrical and infrastructure projects across Queensland and beyond.
