About the Role Reporting directly to the principal, you will carry genuine file ownership and work alongside a focused, experienced legal team. Day to day: • Draft affidavits, correspondence, binding financial agreements, consent orders, and court documents • Manage a portfolio of family law files from initial instructions through to resolution • Liaise directly with clients, including those in sensitive and high-conflict situations, with professionalism and care • Brief barristers, prepare court books, and file documents with the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia • Prepare asset and liability schedules for property settlement matters, including complex asset structures • Support mediation preparation and document production for collaborative law matters • Keep matter management systems current and files progressing to deadlines What You'll Bring • Minimum 3 years of experience in a family law practice (paralegal or legal assistant capacity) • Strong drafting skills across affidavits, correspondence, financial agreements, and court documents • Solid working knowledge of FCFCoA procedure, filing requirements, and family law instruments • Proven ability to manage your own file load independently, with minimal supervision • Confident, empathetic client communication skills, written and verbal • Experience with practice management software (LEAP, Practice Evolve, FilePro, or similar) • A calm, grounded approach when working with clients navigating difficult personal circumstances How to Apply Apply via SEEK with your CV and a brief note on your family law experience.
