Current Opening We currently have a vacancy for a qualified Electrician (General) (ANZSCO 341111) to join our team on a full-time permanent basis. The successful applicant will be based at our Brookvale, NSW 2100 premises and will work across a range of commercial and industrial project sites in the greater Sydney region. This position involves performing the full range of electrical installation, maintenance, testing and repair duties in accordance with Australian Standards, the Wiring Rules (AS/NZS 3000), and applicable workplace health and safety legislation. Position Responsibilities and Tasks The Electrician (General) will be responsible for performing the following duties: Examine and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics and technical specifications to determine the sequence and methods of operation for electrical installations on commercial and industrial project sites. Measure and lay out installation reference points, routes and positions for electrical wiring, conduits, equipment and fittings in accordance with project plans and site requirements. Select, cut, connect and install wire and cable to terminals, connectors and electrical equipment across commercial and industrial building environments. Use electrical and electronic test instruments to trace, locate and diagnose faults in wiring, circuits, switchboards and electrical equipment. Repair and replace faulty wiring, defective components, damaged fixtures and worn electrical parts to restore systems to safe operational condition. Position, install and wire single-phase and three-phase electrical switchboards, distribution boards and associated protective devices in commercial and industrial premises. Connect electrical systems and equipment to power supplies, ensuring correct operation of circuit breakers, residual current devices and safety switches. Test continuity of circuits and the integrity of electrical installations using appropriate testing devices to verify safety, functionality and compliance with Australian Standards and the Wiring Rules (AS/NZS 3000). Assemble, install, commission, maintain and modify electrical control systems, motor controls, and associated wiring for mechanical and building services equipment. Conduct routine and preventative maintenance of electrical systems and equipment to ensure continued reliability, operational safety and compliance with workplace safety requirements and electrical codes. Qualifications and Skills Applicants must possess the following qualifications and skills: Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician or equivalent relevant Australian trade qualification (required). A minimum of 1 year of experience working as an electrician in commercial and/or industrial environments (required). No individual Electrical Contractor Licence required — the successful applicant will perform electrical work as an employee under PSB Electrical Pty Ltd's NSW Electrical Contractor Licence. Competency in electrical installation, testing, fault diagnosis and repair across commercial and industrial environments. Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills for diagnosing faults in wiring systems, switchboards, motor controls and distribution boards. Ability to read, interpret and work from electrical drawings, circuit diagrams, wiring schematics and technical specifications. Familiarity with electrical distribution systems, control panels, circuit protection devices and building services electrical equipment. Sound knowledge of Australian electrical safety standards, including AS/NZS 3000 (Wiring Rules), and relevant workplace health and safety legislation. Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with supervisors, project managers, contractors and other trades on site. Salary $90,000 - $95,000 per annum plus superannuation.
