Role description: The General Accounting Manager is a key member of the Global Onshore & Accounting team that looks to drive global deployment and adoption of the accounting process and ensuring harmonization of best practices Role accountabilities: Executing all key accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end and yearend process, regulatory reporting, balance sheet control, and intercompany operations and payroll accounting. Ensuring timely reporting to corporate head office for all standard reporting deadlines Support internal and external auditors to ensure timely completion of audits, financial statements, and ensuring IFRS compliance and statutory filings. Responsible for the continuous improvement of new systems and processes to enhance capabilities, specifically around the Oracle ERP Implementation (as appropriate) Support Global Tax teams on all tax related matters as required Quality control over financial transactions and reporting while establishing and implementing accounting policies, business processes and internal controls. Adopting and encouraging the use of Shared Services (GSSC) to optimise efficiency, operational delivery, and business success. Building a close partnership with the global finance and operations teams, in particular Business Area Business Partners, Risk, and Operations teams. Engaging in Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Performing other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time by the General Accounting Directors/ or others on the senior leadership teams both locally and globally. Demonstrating a visible and active commitment to personal well-being, healthy and safe workplaces and activities; and continuously improving Arcadis health, safety and environmental performance. Qualifications & Experience: Degree in Accounting/ Finance with recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA or ACMA or equivalent) Demonstrated 8 years past experience in a similar Financial background, preferably in a professional services environment Current knowledge and understanding of accounting standards and tax regulations. Demonstrated experience in leading and implementing complex business change solutions. Audit experience is an advantage. Oracle, BST, OneStream ERP systems and Excel high proficiency experience an advantage. Demonstrated accuracy and attention to details. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence the business and maintain key relationships at the executive level. Demonstrated Organisational and time management skills.
