Why is this CA role for you? You’ve always wanted to be a project manager. To lead people. To be the expert everyone goes to with questions. You’re not quite there yet, skills-wise, but you know you have the attitude and smarts to do it. You’ve been a CA for 3 years on new build projects up to $20million and you are confident with negotiating and handling complex projects. You want some exposure to GC21 and government projects and to deal with the client more. Within 2 years you’d like to have the opportunity to run your own smaller projects as a PM and work your way up. Initially, in this role you’d help mentor and oversee junior CA’s and cadets which are all skills you’ll need to be a good PM. Initially, the salary will be in the $140-$180k package range with a yearly financial appraisal and discretionary bonus and as you get closer to the PM role this will increase.
