Your Role at St John of God Langmore Centre We are looking for a Medical Receptionist to join our Consulting Suites at SJG Langmore Centre on a permanent full‑time basis, supporting both inpatient and outpatient services. This role will primarily be based at our Langmore Centre, and at times will be required to support our SJG Berwick Hospital. This role is rostered Monday to Friday, 7.6 hours per day, within operating hours of 8:00am to 6:00pm, with rotating start times of 8:00am, 9:00am, or 10:00am and corresponding finish times of 4:00pm, 5:00pm, or 6:00pm. There is no weekend or public holiday work required. You will provide the primary front‑of‑house support for the Consulting Suites, delivering high‑quality reception, switchboard, and administrative services to Consultants, Patients, and stakeholders. You will meet and greet patients, process referrals, book appointments, and undertake general administration, while working as part of a supportive, collaborative team that values flexibility, role rotation, and day‑to‑day variety. The Position : Computer skills in office packages – Genie Software General Medical Receptionist duties and new patient coordination Booking appointments Invoicing and receipting of accounts Medical billing with health funds, bank reconciliation, and Medicare preferred Maintain patient confidentiality at all times Attend and participate in staff meetings Take reasonable care of yourself and others. Not interfere, bypass, or misuse any system or equipment provided for health, safety, and welfare purposes You will have the ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload effectively using strong time management skills, along with excellent communication abilities. You will also demonstrate a capacity to learn and implement new skills and knowledge quickly and accurately. You will have experience in a Medical Receptionist role, preferably in Specialists’ rooms and the ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. To succeed, you will have the ability to prioritise work requirements, work productively within a team environment, and demonstrate excellent customer service, communication, and organisational skills.
