Auto Electrician – Trucks & Prime Movers (New Build & Service) Somerton Location | Permanent Full-Time TRS Resourcing is partnering with a major heavy vehicle dealership group to source and secure an experienced Auto Electrician for a permanent full-time positions . Our client is a well-established organisation delivering truck sales, servicing, parts, and fleet support solutions across Victoria. Operating from a modern workshop in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, they support a large transport customer base with end-to-end heavy vehicle solutions , including new builds, servicing, and ongoing maintenance. Due to continued growth and workshop demand, they are now seeking a skilled Auto Electrician to join their team working across new truck builds, pre-delivery, and service/repair work on trucks and prime movers . Key Responsibilities Electrical fit-out of new truck builds and pre-delivery units Installation of electrical components, accessories, and control systems Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams Fault finding and diagnostics on trucks and prime movers Running electrical looms, terminating wiring, and component fitment Installation and integration of systems such as lighting, communications, and auxiliary equipment Carrying out service, repair, and maintenance in line with OEM and road transport standards Working collaboratively within a large workshop team To Be Successful, You Will Have Trade qualification as an Auto Electrician Proven experience working on trucks, prime movers, or heavy vehicles Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability Experience with new builds, fit-outs, or pre-delivery work (highly regarded) Solid understanding of workshop processes and safety standards Ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment Requirements Minimum of two recent, contactable work references Must be based in Melbourne, Victoria Full working rights in Australia Own basic tools (specialist equipment provided) What’s on Offer Permanent full-time role with long-term stability Work with a reputable and established employer Exposure to new builds and advanced heavy vehicle electrical systems Modern workshop environment with strong pipeline of work Opportunity for career growth within a large organisation Why TRS Resourcing?
