As a Metal Fabricator at Letchford Engineering Pty Ltd, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and finishing metal components in line with custom project specifications. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and within a team. Responsibilities and Tasks: Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and fabrication specifications to determine materials, dimensions, and fabrication methods. Select, measure, and prepare metal stock including steel sheets and pipes to meet custom fabrication requirements. Operate hand tools, cutting equipment, and powered machinery to cut and shape metal components accurately. Form and bend metal parts using press brakes, manual techniques, and heat application where required. Align and assemble fabricated components using jigs, clamps, and precision measuring tools to ensure accuracy. Perform MIG and TIG welding to join metal components in accordance with project specifications and industry standards. Complete bolting and riveting tasks where welding is not suitable. Inspect and test completed welds and fabricated structures to ensure quality, strength, and compliance with specifications. Finish fabricated products through grinding, sanding, and polishing to meet quality and safety standards. Contribute to the production of custom steel products such as fire door plates, vision panels, and drainage components. Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with WHS regulations. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and efficient project delivery. Qualifications and Skills: Relevant qualification. Minimum 3 years experience as a Metal Fabricator Strong knowledge of metal fabrication techniques and welding methods. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans. Attention to detail and high level of workmanship. Good communication and teamwork skills. Salary: The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $75,000 - $90,000 p.a plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
