The Role This position suits someone who can blend engineering understanding with procurement expertise. You’ll translate complex technical requirements into effective supplier engagement, ensuring compliant, cost‑effective solutions for safety‑critical defence projects. Key Responsibilities Interpret technical specifications and develop procurement strategies Engage and negotiate with suppliers and OEMs Lead tendering, supplier evaluation and contract placement Ensure procured items meet safety‑critical and regulatory requirements Work closely with engineering, quality, safety and project teams Monitor supplier performance and drive corrective actions Support risk assessments, obsolescence management and lifecycle planning Track and expedite orders to meet programme deadlines About You Engineering background (degree or equivalent experience) Procurement experience in a regulated or safety‑critical environment Strong supplier and OEM engagement skills Confident interpreting technical data, drawings and specifications Knowledge of compliance, QA and supplier certification requirements Experience with tendering, contract management and risk mitigation Organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple priorities Eligible for Australian Defence Security Screening (desirable) Australian citizenship preferred – permanent residents of Australia will also be considered What’s on Offer Competitive salary and benefits Safety critical, technically complex defence projects Supportive, collaborative team culture Real opportunities for professional growth N.B.
