Reporting to the Technical Operations Manager, you will support business as usual operations, incident response, change management and continuous improvement activities that underpin organisational and program outcomes. The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is building a new 10.2km rail line that includes 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD; with four new underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street. Once complete, it will provide trains with a much-needed alternative rail path through the core of the current SEQ Rail network, unlocking a bottleneck and allowing more trains to run more often across the whole of South East Queensland. The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is also delivering multiple supporting projects and activities in conjunction with the Department of Transport and Main Roads. These include accessibility rebuilds for eight surface stations, construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast; upgrades for stabling yards; track works and surface rail enhancements; and the introduction of a new ETCS digital signalling system. About The Role Reporting to the Technical Operations Manager, the Cloud Engineer provides authoritative technical leadership and engineering expertise across the organisation's network, cloud and collaboration platforms. The role is accountable for the reliability, security, design and performance of critical ICT infrastructure and services. Working closely with internal technical specialists, vendors and stakeholders, the Cloud Engineer supports business‑as‑usual operations, incident response and change management, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, documentation and high‑quality service delivery outcomes This opportunity is offered as a fixed term contract until 31st March 2028 with possibility of extension. Key Responsibilities Provide advanced operational support and incident management across network, cloud and collaboration services Lead the design, implementation and governance of changes across network, application and cloud environments Administer and optimise Microsoft 365, Azure and unified communications platforms Monitor service health and performance, identifying risks and improvement opportunities Maintain security controls and compliance with audit, governance and cyber security requirements Develop and maintain operational documentation and runbooks Collaborate with internal teams, vendors and stakeholders to support operational readiness and service improvement About You You will bring strong technical expertise across cloud, network and collaboration platforms, with the ability to provide sound technical advice and support reliable, secure ICT services. You are comfortable working in complex environments, applying judgement, and collaborating with teams and stakeholders to deliver operational outcomes. You Will Have Demonstrated experience designing, deploying and managing cloud infrastructure, particularly in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills across hybrid and cloud environments Experience providing technical advice on complex or high‑risk issues, balancing security, cost and performance Experience with automation, scripting and monitoring tools In‑depth knowledge of network architecture, security and identity management Experience with ITIL or similar incident, change and problem management frameworks Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, vendors and stakeholders Strong communication skills, including technical documentation Relevant tertiary and/or professional qualifications in ICT or a related discipline Why work with CRRDA?
