The Opportunity MJD Recruitment are excited to be working with this highly regarded National law firm, seeking a diligent and experienced Legal Secretary to join their Brisbane team. Supporting a busy practice working across general liability, catastrophic injury and product liability matters, this position offers the opportunity to become a key member of a collaborative and high performing legal team. This is a pivotal support role where organisation, initiative and attention to detail will see you thrive. Working closely with experienced lawyers and internal teams, you will play an important role in ensuring matters progress smoothly while maintaining excellent client service standards. With a varied workload and competing priorities, no two days will look the same. The Responsibilities This position involves working closely with fee earners and internal teams, so some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Supporting lawyers with strong practice management and administrative support Preparing WIP reports and pre-bills in a timely manner Managing monthly billing cycles using Aderant Expert Working closely with the Finance team on billing and debtor management Opening new matters and conducting conflict searches Maintaining electronic files to ensure records remain accurate and up to date Drafting and amending legal correspondence and documents Preparing briefs and court documentation Liaising with courts and assisting with document filing when required Assisting with monthly reporting and general administrative support across the team This is a role where organisation, foresight and strong attention to detail will make a real difference to the team. The Requirements Working in a Legal Assistant or Secretary position means you'll already be comfortable operating within a busy legal environment. You'll have a minimum of 3 years' experience within a legal support position, with previous Personal Injury or Workplace matters expertise being highly regarded. Some other skills that will help you stand out from the crowd when applying include: Strong organisational and time management skills Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with stakeholders High attention to detail and strong problem solving abilities Professional composure with the ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion Advanced skills across the Microsoft Office suite Strong typing speed of approximately 70 WPM Experience using Aderant Expert or iManage (highly regarded but not essential) Why This Role?
