Job Description Sydney location with Hyrid working Opportunity is knocking — now’s your moment! Our Mortgage Pricing team is entering an exciting new phase powered by analytics and automation. We’re building smarter pricing through modern data engineering and innovation — and it’s a critical lever in Westpac Group’s strategy. You’ll join a high-performing group focused on creating a great customer experience for our lenders and brokers. Your role and responsibilities - Own BAU data operations stability with end-to-end technical ownership of pricing data pipelines and systems. Engineer automated, production-grade pipelines across ingestion, transformation and delivery to keep pricing activities resilient and reliable. Enable machine learning (ML) and data science by providing scalable data access and execution environments across MS Azure cloud platforms. Maintain and uplift pricing operational and decisioning capabilities through process automation and optimisation. Extract insights from multiple data sources and apply advanced analytics to shape pricing strategy. Expand pricing analytics to support returns, revenue and growth objectives — including end-to-end management of data pipelines across multiple data assets. Collaborate across teams to deliver executive-level reporting on pricing performance and risk. Your ingredients for success … Deep experience in large-scale enterprise data engineering , with advanced SQL skills covering complex analytics, transformation logic, and performance optimisation. Hands-on experience designing, building, and operating ETL/ELT pipelines , across both batch and incremental processing patterns. Proven experience ingesting structured and semi-structured data into enterprise platforms, supported by strong RESTful API fundamentals (authentication including API keys and OAuth, request/response handling, and throttling controls). Strong capability across Azure cloud platforms , running end-to-end data pipelines, analytical workloads, and machine learning model training and execution. Demonstrated experience supporting production-grade cloud platforms , ensuring data pipelines and analytical workloads operate reliably and at scale. Strong Python skills , applied across ETL, analytics, and ML-adjacent workflows. Experience using Microsoft Power Automate to streamline data operations and automate workflows such as notifications, scheduling, email triage, and process automation. An analytical mindset , with the ability to translate raw data into actionable business insights. Curiosity and adaptability , with the ability to quickly learn new tools, platforms, and techniques as the team and technology evolve. Experience building dashboards and analytical reporting in Power BI. D omain experience in mortgages or financial services (desirable but not essential). Why join us?
