Role: Data Platform Engineering Manager Salary: $200K - $220K Super Location: Sydney CBD/WFH Flex A major enterprise organisation is looking for an experienced Data Platform Engineering Manager to lead the development of a modern, cloud-based data platform powering analytics, automation and AI initiatives across the business. This role will lead a high-performing engineering team responsible for delivering scalable data pipelines, reusable data products, and platform capabilities that enable real-time insights and data-driven decision making. You will play a key role in shaping platform architecture, embedding engineering best practices, and working closely with architects, data teams, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions. Key Responsibilities Lead a multidisciplinary team of Data Engineers, Solution Designers, DevOps Engineers and Data Test Engineers Design and deliver scalable data pipelines, models and reusable data products Drive development of a modern cloud-based data platform including feature stores and API-driven data services Translate business and analytical requirements into well-structured, scalable data solutions Oversee delivery of data models, semantic layers and data marts supporting analytics and reporting Embed strong engineering practices including CI/CD, test-driven development, and deployment automation Ensure development standards, governance and best practices are consistently applied Collaborate with cross-functional teams across data, insights and platform operations Key Skills and Experience 7 years experience in Data Engineering or Data Platform development Previous experience leading or mentoring engineering teams Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake and AWS data services (e.g. Glue, S3, Lambda) Deep understanding of data pipeline architecture, ELT/ETL patterns and data modelling Experience building scalable cloud-native data platforms Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks and DevOps practices Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills Experience with real-time or event-driven data pipelines Exposure to AI/ML or advanced analytics platforms Knowledge of data governance, metadata and lineage frameworks AWS or Snowflake certifications Why Apply Lead the development of a modern enterprise data platform Work on large-scale data initiatives including AI readiness Manage a high-performing engineering team Long-term program of work within a major organisation Please APPLY today, or contact Laurie at Talenza formore information.
