The Role As a Production/Plant Engineer, you will be the technical backbone of our fabrication facility. You will oversee daily plant operations, optimize production workflows, ensure strict quality compliance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. You will work closely with other members to ensure every pane of glass meets our world-class standards before it leaves the factory. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day plant activities, ensuring production schedules are met safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Analyze current fabrication processes (cutting, edging, tempering, laminating, IGU assembly) and implement improvements to reduce waste, lower costs, and increase throughput. Enforce rigorous QA/QC protocols in line with Australian Standards (AS/NZS) and client specifications. Investigate and resolve non-conformances. Oversee preventive maintenance programs for CNC machinery, tempering furnaces, and automated lines to minimize downtime. Conduct risk assessments, ensure compliance with WHS regulations, and lead safety training for production staff. Liaise with the projects team to review technical drawings, assess feasibility, and ensure seamless handover from fabrication to installation. Your Profile We’re looking for someone who has: at least Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering 5 years in a production or plant engineering role strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement methodologies knowledge of manufacturing safety standards and quality assurance strong problem-solving and leadership skills ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
