Permanent Role Hybrid Work Arrangements based in Brisbane CBD Interviews to begin in January 2026 Senior Software Engineer (Brisbane-based) This is a permanent opportunity offering hybrid work arrangements based in the Brisbane CBD and a base salary up to $140k. Overview The Senior Software Engineer plays a critical role in the operations and support of core application platforms, ensuring they remain stable, secure, and highly available. This role sits within a build and run environment, with a strong focus on platform ownership, operational excellence, and addressing underlying system issues. You will work in a self managed team responsible for applications that other teams rely on to innovate and deliver business outcomes. Key Responsibilities • Own the operational health of assigned application platforms, ensuring availability, stability, and security. • Support and maintain applications in a run environment, including incident management and root cause analysis. • Identify and remediate underlying platform and back office issues to improve long term reliability. • Design, develop, test, and maintain application solutions aligned to technical standards and architecture. • Work across multiple integrated systems within a complex enterprise architecture. • Perform code and design reviews to ensure high quality, maintainable solutions. • Support release activities including build preparation and coordination with testing. • Provide technical input into platform improvements, performance, and security enhancements. • Operate with a high level of accountability for platform outcomes, with minimal reliance on external stakeholders. • Collaborate closely with engineers across the platform and operations space. • Promote continuous improvement and operational best practices within the team. • Participate in on call or after hours support as required to meet service levels. Skills and Experience • Strong commercial experience with .Net and BizTalk environment • Proven experience supporting and maintaining enterprise applications in production environments. • Excellent problem solving skills with a practical, can do approach. • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. • Demonstrated ability to take ownership and accountability for platform outcomes. • Experience working in complex, integrated system landscapes. • Background in financial services or other regulated environments is highly regarded. • Experience with Agile delivery environments.
