This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives on system stability, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement, and who takes pride in ensuring platforms are healthy, reliable, and scalable so broader innovation can succeed. You will play a key role in maintaining and uplifting systems at varying levels of maturity, helping the organisation navigate increasing operational volumes and upcoming regulatory change. The environment requires initiative, curiosity, and a pragmatic mindset — someone who can independently identify what is required to move platforms from good to excellent. As a senior member of the team, you will work closely with engineering, operations, and business stakeholders, contributing hands-on technical expertise while helping shape operational practices across a growing team. Key Responsibilities Support, maintain, and enhance enterprise platforms to ensure system health, stability, and performance Diagnose incidents, investigate failures, and perform deep root-cause analysis, implementing long-term preventative fixes Analyse and resolve issues across .NET services, WCF integrations, and middleware platforms Contribute to the uplift of systems at varying levels of maturity, helping stabilise platforms under increasing operational load Assess and implement changes arising from business, regulatory, or technical requirements Work closely with integration platforms to support service orchestration and inter-system communication Participate in release activities, patching, and operational readiness planning Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements to improve SLA performance and operational outcomes Provide clear technical input to support decision-making across technical and non-technical stakeholders Promote a culture of accountability, curiosity, and continuous improvement within the team Mentor and support other engineers, contributing to capability uplift across the broader group Participate in a rotating (attractively paid) on-call roster to support production systems outside standard business hours, once a month Skills, Experience & Qualifications Strong commercial experience in C# / .NET Hands-on experience with WCF services is critical Exposure to BizTalk (including orchestration and integration concepts) is highly regarded, though deep expertise is not required Proven experience supporting and maintaining complex, integrated systems in live production environments Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to understand why systems fail Comfortable working in operationally focused environments with high accountability Demonstrated ownership mindset and ability to work autonomously Strong communication skills and a collaborative, low-ego approach Experience in financial services or other regulated environments is advantageous Exposure to Agile delivery environments is beneficial Please reach out to me via [email protected] with your contact number and resume (in Microsoft Word format) should you be interested.
