Large government department 3 month contract and increase your cloud & automation skills Brisbane CBD with Hybrid working flexibility System Administrator (3 month Contract) We are seeking an experienced System Administrator to support and maintain enterprise Windows, SQL, and web-based platforms across on-premise and cloud environments. This role suits a hands-on infrastructure professional who enjoys operational ownership, automation, and working across BAU and project-driven work. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will deliver technical services within agreed timeframes while contributing to platform stability, security, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Provision, maintain, and support Windows Server, SQL, and Web platforms across on-premise and cloud environments Resolve service requests and incidents, and contribute to ongoing infrastructure and improvement projects Participate in rotating on-call and after-hours rosters , including security patching activities Administer and support enterprise ICT services, providing technical advice to internal partner stakeholders Produce regular reporting on server availability, vulnerabilities, and software compliance Prioritise and deliver work in line with agreed schedules and operational requirements Communicate clearly with stakeholders, providing timely and well-documented advice on hosting and infrastructure solutions Produce and maintain high-quality systems and operational documentation Ensure compliance with technical architecture standards, security controls, change management, and incident/problem management practices Investigate and assess new technologies that can improve efficiency and reduce operational overhead Undertake additional infrastructure-related duties as required by leadership Essential Skills & Experience Strong experience administering Windows, SQL, and Web servers Hands-on experience with Azure and AWS environments Automation and scripting using PowerShell, T-SQL, Terraform, and Infrastructure-as-Code templates Administration of System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM) and System Centre Operations Manager (SCOM) Active Directory administration Proven ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a small technical team Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, including senior management Ability to clearly present technical information in one-on-one and small group settings Highly Desirable Experience with automation practices and DevOps methodologies General knowledge of VMware vRealize , networking, identity, and security infrastructure Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Hudson Hudson is committed to helping you find a workplace where you feel respected, supported, and free to thrive.
