Cloud Engineer – Government Cloud Platform (AWS/Azure) 6-month contract | Federal Government | Multiple locations | Baseline clearance We are partnering with a large Federal Government agency to engage an experienced Cloud Engineer to help design, build and operate its enterprise cloud platform. This role sits within the agency’s Cloud & Digital Platforms team and will focus on building secure, scalable and compliant cloud infrastructure across AWS and whole-of-government cloud services . You will work alongside a Lead Cloud Engineer to support the agency’s Cloud Roadmap, modernise its cloud estate and enable secure adoption across business systems. What you’ll do Design and operate enterprise cloud environments across AWS, Azure and government cloud platforms Build and maintain secure landing zones , networking, IAM and cloud guardrails Implement government security controls aligned to ISM and PSPF Optimise cloud environments for cost, performance and reliability Support cloud adoption across multiple teams and vendors Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers and stakeholders What we’re looking for Strong experience in cloud infrastructure/cloud platform engineering Hands-on expertise with AWS and/or Azure in complex enterprise or government environments Solid background in cloud networking, identity and security Experience working with multi-account cloud environments, automation and IaC Comfortable working in regulated environments and under government security frameworks Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders Clearance Australian Citizen with ability to obtain Baseline clearance
