What’s On Offer Aftermarket & Refurbishment Focus: Work on upgrades, life extensions and compliance-driven engineering solutions Engineering-Led Environment: Join an experienced in-house engineering team supporting manufacturing and workshop operations Long-Term Stability: Secure, full-time role with a well-established Australian business Competitive Remuneration: Salary range $110,000 – $130,000 Super Collaborative Culture: Strong engagement between engineering, workshop and service teams Role Overview As a Mechanical Engineer , you will primarily support the aftermarket and refurbishment teams , providing compliant, fit-for-purpose mechanical engineering solutions across upgrades, modifications and new equipment development. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong experience in manufacturing and mining environments , with regular interaction across workshops, engineering, hydraulics and electrical disciplines. Key Responsibilities: Engineering Design & Compliance • Perform engineering design calculations to ensure safe, compliant designs • Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, ISO standards and legislation including ADR, RVS and VSB6 • Prepare, review and sign engineering documentation for legal compliance • Complete risk assessments, stress analysis and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Mechanical Design & Documentation • Produce detailed mechanical drawings, including welding standards, paint standards and tolerances • Generate CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks and PDM • Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and detailed job packages • Check and review mechanical designs and detailed drawings Testing, Analysis & Continuous Improvement • Undertake testing of equipment under development and document findings • Analyse data and calculations to improve performance of upgrades and new equipment • Perform root cause investigations on failed components and prepare technical reports • Contribute to Research & Development and continuous improvement initiatives Collaboration & Technical Support • Respond to internal Engineering Job Requests (EJRs) • Conduct internal design review meetings with the engineering team • Collaborate closely with workshop personnel on technical queries and improvements • Provide technical guidance to draftspersons, junior engineers, sales and aftermarket teams • Review and support hydraulic and electrical designs in liaison with discipline engineers • Assist in developing 3D scanning capability using PolyWorks software What We’re Looking For Essential • Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Australian qualification) • 5 years’ hands-on mechanical engineering experience • Manufacturing and/or mining industry experience in a similar environment • Fabrication and/or hydraulic systems experience • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and PDM • Solid understanding of Australian Standards, ISO standards and compliance requirements • Strong analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills • Ability to work collaboratively across engineering and workshop teams Highly Regarded • Experience supporting aftermarket, refurbishment or life-extension programs • Exposure to heavy mobile equipment or bespoke engineered assets Apply Now If you are an experienced Mechanical Engineer seeking a technically engaging role focused on compliance, upgrades and continuous improvement , we’d like to hear from you.
