About the Team The Medical Short Stay Ward (MSSW) is situated in ward 5D. The MSSW is an inpatient Ward operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The MSSW is for patients admitted for inpatient care under a QCH General Paediatric team with anticipated admission of 24-72hrs. The medical short stay Ward shares the ward area with 4 x Transit Beds supporting both incoming and exiting patients. Transit Beds will be supported by 5D nursing staff 24hrs a day, with the patient remaining under the bed card of the lead clinician (this does not have to be General Paediatrics). About the Role In this role you will deliver quality outcomes for children, young people and families (Leader of Self) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include: * Provide general reception and administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of a busy ward environment, consistently demonstrating a high standard of customer service, which includes: * * Greeting patients upon arrival and managing patient admissions, discharges, and transfers as required. * Updating patient demographic information upon arrival and ensuring accuracy. * Checking in and outpatient appointments via ESM, and scheduling follow-up appointments as instructed. * Processing discharge summaries promptly and accurately. * Managing incoming calls and directing them to the appropriate service areas. * Coordinating and organising travel arrangements for patients and their families.
