The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is building a new 10.2km rail line that includes 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD; with four new underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street. Once complete, it will provide trains with a much-needed alternative rail path through the core of the current SEQ Rail network, unlocking a bottleneck and allowing more trains to run more often across the whole of South East Queensland. The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is also delivering multiple supporting projects and activities in conjunction with the Department of Transport and Main Roads. These include accessibility rebuilds for eight surface stations, construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast; upgrades for stabling yards; track works and surface rail enhancements; and the introduction of a new ETCS digital signalling system. About the Role This is an outstanding opportunity for to step into a visible, client-side delivery role on a major rail infrastructure program. As Project Engineer you will represent the Cross River Rail Delivery Authority on site supporting construction activities at Clapham Yard and the adjacent Moorooka Station sites. Clapham Yard will provide critical rollingstock stabling and maintenance capability, while the Moorooka Station rebuild will improve accessibility and customer outcomes. Working closely with the Delivery Manager, you will act as a key interface between the contractor and CRRDA internal teams. From a client-side perspective, you will monitor construction activities, review designs, assess technical submissions and support resolution of site issues to ensure works are delivered safely, in accordance with approved designs and to required quality standards. You will gain exposure across civil, structural, track, building and rail systems disciplines in a complex brownfield environment. The role provides genuine responsibility, including engagement with senior contractor representatives, coordination of interfaces and contribution to program reporting and risk management. This opportunity is offered as a fixed term contract until June 2027 with possible extension. Key Responsibilities: * Develop and maintain a strong understanding of current and upcoming works within the Program to support informed oversight and decision-making. * Liaise with internal technical resources as required to support the resolution of technical issues and completion of project activities to required specifications. * Review and support resolution of RFIs, NCRs, hold and witness points, and other technical and quality documentation. * Provide engineering input to support assessment of construction methodologies, technical submissions, emerging site conditions and associated safety, quality, time and risk impacts. * Coordinate and support resolution of interfaces between contractors, rail disciplines and internal CRRDA functions including Commercial, Project Controls, Safety, Stakeholder and Environment. * Identify, assess and escalate technical, safety, quality and interface risks that may impact program outcomes. * Contribute to program reporting, analysis and documentation, including preparation of inputs to support governance forums, executive reporting and timely escalation of issues. * Attend and actively participate in project meetings and workshops. * Attend out-of-hours and weekend activities, including rail possession works * Support a safety-first culture About You: * Experience supporting delivery of infrastructure construction projects * Relevant Engineering Degree * Good interpersonal skills with the ability to confidently engage and collaborate with contractors, internal specialists and senior stakeholders * Practical problem-solving capability with sound judgement in assessing technical issues and risk * Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills * Previous experience in rail related track and civil works highly regarded but not essential Why work with CRRDA?
