Currently we are working closely across the business to educate, extend and integrate the Design System across products and services. As the design system developer, your role is integral to maintaining and developing ASIC's design system. * Sydney based location * $127,641 - $144,946 (depending on experience) 15.4% superannuation * 24-month Fixed Term Contract position * Applications close at 11:59pm AEDT, 6 March 2026 The team The Digital team, part of ASIC's Digital, Data & Technology Office, includes areas such as Regulatory Systems, Digital Communications, and the Human Centred Design (HCD) Hub. The HCD Hub is an enterprise-wide service driving ASIC's goal to be a digitally enabled, data-informed regulator. It delivers service design and UX/UI expertise, collaborating closely with product owners, project managers, and business teams to implement user-focused, compliant solutions and processes. The role The purpose of a Design System Developer at ASIC is to: * Develop and maintain coded design system components across supported frameworks, including OutSystems and React, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and aligned with design specifications. * Translate design assets into production ready component libraries, collaborating with designers to ensure Figma assets and documentation accurately reflect the implemented system. * Integrate user research and accessibility insights into component architecture, interaction patterns, and documentation. * Contribute to facilitating and organising design system guild sessions to present and review new and evolved design system assets. * Provide technical guidance and training to teams adopting the design system, helping them implement components effectively and consistently. * Work closely with design system developers and UX/UI designers (with the design system designer) to make sure the desired assets are usable, feasible and are created and maintained in a way that's easy for others to consume. * Collaborate with the Design System team to define and prioritise the design system roadmap, working with product, business, and engineering teams to ensure the most valuable components and patterns are delivered at the right time. About you A successful applicant should possess many or all of the following: * Skilled in building high-quality interfaces that balance developer experience with real-world constraints. * Strong knowledge of modern CSS and cross browser compatibility * Advanced knowledge of accessibility standards, including A11y and WCAG, with hands-on experience building and testing accessible sites. * Experienced in contributing to and creating design systems in medium–large organisations. * Extensive experience collaborating within software development teams as a positive, supportive contributor. * Strong interest in evolving technologies and software development practices.
