Job Description What you’d be doing in this role As Canva continues to scale, strong cloud foundations are critical to keeping our platform secure, compliant, and fast — without slowing teams down. As an Engineering Manager in Cloud Enablement , you’ll lead a high-impact infrastructure team responsible for the foundations that all other teams depend on. Your mission is to make governance invisible, automated, and enabling — so engineers can move quickly and responsibly across AWS and GCP. At the moment, this role is focused on: Leading and coaching a team of platform engineers building cloud landing zones, account vending, and governance foundations Driving compliance by design through preventative controls, automation, and clear developer workflows Partnering closely with Security, Risk & Compliance, and Platform teams to deliver data-informed governance Supporting Canva’s Containers Everywhere company goal, including establishing GCP as a first-class environment Balancing operational excellence with long-term platform strategy and scalability Growing high performers through regular feedback, coaching, and career development Advocating for governance as an enabler , not a blocker, to innovation You’re probably a match if You’ve managed infrastructure or platform teams through complex technical challenges You have a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure governance , ideally across AWS and/or GCP You’re experienced in leading teams that operate critical, highly-scaled systems You’re comfortable translating complex technical concepts for a wide range of stakeholders You balance delivery, reliability, and long-term strategy with confidence You build trust, psychological safety, and a strong team culture You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity and helping teams find clarity About the team The Cloud Enablement team sits within Canva’s Core Infrastructure organisation.
