Role Overview The Civil & Structural Engineer will provide engineering support to the Engineering Team, delivering civil and structural design solutions primarily for substations, transmission lines and renewable energy projects. The role is responsible for the design and construction support of footings, structures, buildings and associated civil works, ensuring compliance with required specifications, standards and statutory regulations. Key Responsibilities Deliver professional civil and structural engineering services across substations, transmission lines and renewable energy projects. Lead civil/structural design activities, providing technical guidance, support and leadership throughout project delivery. Undertake scope definition, prepare contractor scope documentation and participate in tender evaluations. Apply sound engineering principles to ensure compliance with relevant design standards, statutory regulations and Australian Standards. Develop and peer review engineering calculations, reports and drawings in accordance with the Technical Authority Procedure. Design and review civil and structural components including (but not limited to): Concrete footings and foundations Structural steelwork, anchor bolts and baseplates Buildings and transformer bunds Retaining walls, gantries and fire walls Earthworks, drainage, pavements, retention and detention systems Identify and manage technical, commercial and contractual risks during tender and design phases. Validate and report potential variations to project specifications. Support life cycle safety in design processes and participate in Life Cycle Safety workshops. Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of civil and structural design standards and templates. Provide technical support during construction, including site activities as required. Stakeholder & Relationship Management Collaborate with Engineering personnel to provide technical leadership and project support. Work closely with Construction and Maintenance teams to provide practical, buildable design solutions and site-based technical support. Support Project Managers with reporting, technical advice and issue resolution throughout project delivery. Coordinate with Discipline Managers, Principal Engineers and Technical Leads to ensure alignment of deliverables and knowledge sharing across the engineering function. Key Skills & Experience Degree qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering. Demonstrated experience in civil and structural design within substations, utilities, transmission or renewable energy projects. Strong understanding of Australian Standards and relevant statutory requirements. Experience in tender preparation, design risk management and contractor scope development.
