Job Description Epworth Richmond Acute and Continuing Care Services are jointly advertising for Casual Grade 2 Social Workers to join our workforce, with opportunities across both services. These casual roles provide workforce flexibility to support periods of fluctuating workload and service demand, helping to reduce patient wait times and ensure timely assessment, intervention and follow‑up care. There will be a need to work across sites - Richmond, Hawthorn and Camberwell, as the needs arise. In these Grade 2 casual clinical roles, you will provide Social Work services to acute hospital patients at Epworth Richmond, and support Continuing Care services at Epworth Hawthorn, Camberwell and Richmond. You will manage an independent and varied clinical caseload, with exposure to: Medical and surgical patients Oncology Critical care Brain injury Multi trauma Rehabilitation and complex care Aged Care You will work within a small, enthusiastic and cohesive Social Work team, contributing to high‑quality care for some of our most vulnerable patients. You will make an impact by- Providing independent, evidence‑based psychosocial assessment and intervention Undertaking comprehensive discharge planning and contribute to optimal patient flow Identifying and manage psychosocial risk, ensuring safe and effective practice Working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams Demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness in a dynamic acute‑care environment Contributing positively to team culture, quality activities and service improvement You are a capable and confident Social Worker with experience in hospital‑based practice who is comfortable managing a clinical caseload. You are adaptable, professional and regularly available for weekday casual shifts, responding to prevailing clinical demand.
