The Gig An exciting opportunity is now available for a capable, technically minded, and delivery-focused Project Engineer to join a stable civil construction team delivering projects across Sydney metro. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys variety, wants greater ownership on projects, and is ready to step up within a supportive team. Based in Sydney and reporting to an experienced Project Manager, you’ll work across site and office, supporting daily construction activities, coordinating subcontractors, and managing documentation to keep projects running smoothly. You’ll be trusted with real responsibility while being supported to grow your technical and delivery capability. Technical precision underpins everything you do, from interpreting drawings and managing scope to resolving site issues and maintaining safety and quality standards. With a practical mindset and clear communication, you’ll help deliver projects that are well planned, well run, and delivered right the first time. You will be trusted with: Planning and coordinating civil construction activities Reviewing design drawings, specifications and contract documentation Monitoring site progress and reporting on program, cost and quality Supporting procurement of materials, plant and subcontractors Conducting site inspections to ensure safety, quality and compliance Identifying issues early and driving practical solutions Preparing daily records, reports and project documentation Liaising with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams Contributing to risk and quality management processes Assisting with project handover and close-out deliverables What’s In Your Toolbox? Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline (or near completion) Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline 5 years’ experience in civil infrastructure project delivery Practical experience with civil construction methods and sequencing Competent in interpreting technical drawings and specifications Strong communication and organisational skills Confident on site with the ability to work collaboratively You’re the kind of person who keeps projects moving, communicates clearly with site teams and stakeholders, and solves problems before they escalate.
