About Us Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission. Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'. About the Role The role is a key operational position within the Judicial Commission of Victoria (the Commission). This Commission is an independent body established to investigate complaints about the conduct and capacity of judicial officers and non-judicial Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) members. The Commission seeks to promote public confidence in the courts and VCAT and define the standards expected of judicial officers, both in and out of the court room. The Commission's Board is chaired by the Chief Justice of Victoria. The Commission receives administrative support from Court Services Victoria (CSV), a large public entity. The role will liaise and work with a range of CSV staff on a regular basis. CSV also provides administrative support to all of Victoria's courts and VCAT. An opportunity has arisen to work in the important field of judicial ethics and integrity, in hybrid work environment where professional development and well-being is a high priority. The hybrid working model enables staff to work from home and in our newly fitted out office (close to the court-precinct) - where a calm, collaborative, collegiate workplace has been created. Access to state-of-the-art end-of-trip facilities make it easy to commute by bike or take a break during the day to exercise. A comprehensive well-being program is also available. The Administrative Support Officer will work within the Operations team providing support to key projects and initiatives, undertaking a range of general administrative tasks including: * Provide administrative support to financial operations * Support day-to-day office operations * Use Microsoft Office 365 for word processing, spreadsheets and presentations in accordance with the Commission's brand guidelines * Edit brochures in Adobe InDesign and create PDFs for printing or the website This role is offered on a part‑time basis (anticipated at 0.4-0.6 FTE), with days and hours to be agreed by negotiation. Please note that flexible and hybrid working arrangements for this role will be considered on a case‑by‑case basis and agreed through negotiation, having regard to the operational requirements of the Commission. About You The role requires strong technical capability, effective communication skills, and a commitment to service excellence, integrity and continuous improvement in a public sector environment. You will bring: * Ability to edit Adobe InDesign templates and export PDFs (desirable). * Experience with Microsoft Office 365 and ability to learn new systems. * Demonstrates respectful, inclusive and client‑focused engagement. * Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills. * Commitment to continuous improvement and service excellence.
