Human Resources Business Partner – Retail (18 MTH Fixed Term) Flexible working | Fashion & Homewares Retail Industry Mascot, Sydney-based We’re looking for an experienced, people-first Human Resources Business Partner to join a high-performing retail HR team within a leading fashion & homewares retail business. This fixed-term opportunity support large, multi-site retail portfolios and plays a critical role in maintaining strong people practices, uplifting leader capability and managing complex employee relations across the store network. Aligned by state groupings, each HRBP has responsibility for all stores within their region, partnering closely with Store Leaders and Area Managers to drive consistency, performance and engagement. These roles are ideal for hands-on, operational HR professionals who thrive in fast-paced retail environments and enjoy being on the ground with leaders. What You’ll Be Doing Partnering with Store Leaders and Area Managers across 30–35 stores to drive performance, engagement and accountability. Managing high-volume, complex employee relations matters end to end. Coaching and upskilling leaders in people management, performance and capability. Driving consistency and best practice in people processes across a large retail portfolio. Managing workforce risk and ensuring compliance with employment legislation and retail awards. Supporting continuity and stability during internal project work and parental leave cover. Working closely with an HR Advisor to enable focus on complex case management and regional workforce strategy. What You’ll Bring Extensive experience in an operational HRBP or senior HR generalist role within retail/hospitality or another high-volume environment. Strong expertise in employee relations and complex case management. Proven ability to coach and influence leaders at all levels in a fast-paced, multi-site setting. Solid understanding of employment legislation and award interpretation. A pragmatic, resilient and commercially minded approach.
