With your expertise in data architecture, solution design, and leadership, you'll drive the delivery of top-notch data solutions that align seamlessly with organisational objectives.You'll oversee the creation of robust data models, efficient pipelines, and rock-solid governance frameworks, all while cultivating a culture of collaboration and innovation within your team. A solid grasp of data engineering principles is essential, and experience with tools like Snowflake and Informatica will give you an edge in mastering data integration, transformation, and governance.Key Accountabilities:- Leadership and Team Management:Lead and mentor a team of engineers and analysts to deliver enterprise data platform solutions.Manage team performance, workload distribution, and professional development.- Cloud Infrastructure Development and Optimisation:Oversee the design, deployment, and optimisation of cloud-based infrastructure, primarily in Azure environments.Promote automated and repeatable development practices by leveraging Infrastructure as Code technologies.Ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of cloud environments through effective governance and risk management.- Governance and Documentation:Ensure compliance with organisational data governance policies and standards.Identify opportunities for service improvements and contribute to the continuous enhancement of data engineering practices.- Stakeholder Collaboration:Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical advice, and deliver data solutions that meet business needs.Act as a key liaison between technical teams and business units to ensure alignment with organisational objectives.About You:While not mandatory, experience and understanding in the following would be highly regarded:- Expertise in data modelling tools and methodologies.- Strong knowledge of database systems (e.g., SQL Server, Snowflake).- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and methodologies.- Familiarity with ETL processes and tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Informatica).- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.- Relevant IT qualifications/certification.The Benefits:-Opportunities for regional travel and regional engagement on occasion.-Fantastic career development leadership opportunity.-Passionate engaged team with values driven culture.DLGWV is committed to respecting, protecting and promoting human rights in our decision-making and actions.
