The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise in PLC and SCADA systems, supported by excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams. We design, build, and commission PLC and SCADA systems for large utility and government clients, frequently working alongside major contractors on complex infrastructure projects. This role is Sydney CBD based and will require site attendance, including commissioning activities, to meet client and project requirements. Key Responsibilities And Requirements Experience and Technical Skills Minimum 10 years' experience designing, building, and commissioning PLC and SCADA systems. Demonstrated experience with, Siemens S7 platforms (Step 7 and TIA Portal), Schneider Electric M580 platform configuration, ClearSCADA / GeoSCADA Proven experience delivering PLC and SCADA solutions for water treatment plants. Familiarity with Sydney Water automation standards, projects, and CASE tools is highly regarded. Sound understanding of electrical systems, with the ability to read and interpret electrical drawings commensurate with the required level of experience. Leadership and Collaboration Ability to take a technical leadership role within an Automation team. Strong capability to work effectively in a team environment, engaging with internal team members, Engineers from other disciplines, contractors and clients. Comfortable liaising with contractors and customers to define project requirements and resolve technical issues. Documentation and Engineering Standards High level of proficiency in writing requirements specifications and functional specifications Extensive experience developing, design documentation, and test and commissioning documentation for use by other engineers. Education Bachelor's degree recognised by Engineers Australia in one of the following: Electrical Engineering. Computer Science or Mechatronics.
