Job Description As the Lead Reliability Engineer within Griffith University’s Digital Solutions portfolio, you will lead reliability, maintenance, and improvement efforts for the PeopleSoft ERP platform, ensuring it remains stable, secure, and fit for purpose. Your role will focus on sustaining application performance, patching integrity, and service continuity across critical ERP environments. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional delivery teams spanning middleware, integration, testing, infrastructure, and change management, driving continuous improvement in automation, observability, and risk mitigation for ERP reliability operations. In addition to your primary focus on PeopleSoft, you will also provide technical guidance and coordination support to the Database Administration Team to maintain overall platform health and service excellence. What You’ll Do Drive Resiliency and Availability: Collaborate with Platform Engineering, Product teams, and the PeopleSoft application support team to enhance the reliability and performance of PeopleSoft and related systems across Griffith’s environments. Champion Automation: Design and build robust automation solutions to streamline the deployment, monitoring, and incident response for PeopleSoft systems. deployments of PeopleSoft updates and patches while maintaining high system reliability and security standards. Drive Innovation: Drive Griffith’s adoption of cloud-native infrastructure, modern DevOps practices, and observability tools to optimize the operation of PeopleSoft and other enterprise applications in a hybrid cloud environment. Lead Technical Growth: Mentor colleagues and promote the development of automation, reliability, and DevOps best practices, sharing your expertise to elevate the technical capability of the Digital Solutions team. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain an enterprise patching strategy and calendar for ERP systems, coordinating analysis of updates, impact assessments, regression testing, and change approvals. Oversee service level management and operations, maintaining service catalog entries, monitoring delivery, managing incidents, and reporting on operational metrics. Engage stakeholders and plan business readiness for patch deployments, including communication, training, and support. Monitor emerging technologies and vendor roadmaps, identifying opportunities for automation, observability, and resilience improvements. Manage supplier and vendor relationships, negotiating services and support terms. Lead, mentor, and manage staff or virtual teams to deliver patching and reliability outcomes. Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, standards, and security controls for ERP and database operations. About you You will have proven expertise in ERP/database reliability, supported by postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience. Desirable requirements include Experience in the Higher Education sector and an understanding of its operational systems and data requirements. Experience should include system administration, application support, or infrastructure management in enterprise environments preferably with exposure to ERP systems such as PeopleSoft. ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent knowledge of IT service and change management principles. What we can offer This is a fixed term opportunity until December 2026 based at Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan) campus. As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations. HEW 9 Salary – Base range - $132,655.36 - $137,398.61 17% super. Full package range - $155,206.78 - $160,756.38.
