Your role at St John of God Berwick Hospital Your role will provide reception and switchboard support and work closely with hospital caregivers to ensure all patients admitted to St John of Gold Health Care have adequate health cover, and are provided with informed financial consent and Work as a team member of the Patient Services Department, responsible for acting as a key contact point for patients, clinicians, practice managers and health funds in regards to a patient’s pre-admission, admission, discharge and billing of patients and debtors follow up as required. This includes reviewing eligibility, consent and personal details related to the patients’ admission. The Position Provide a high quality of reception, switchboard and clerical support as required. Process Patient Admissions and Discharge information in accordance with procedures. Receive money from patients e.g. credit card payment on admission. Resolution of patient queries as they arise regarding their cover at the admission centre, phone or on the ward and other areas of the hospital. Contact health funds to discuss and acquire accurate information and clarification in regards to a patient’s level of cover. Maintain regular communication with Health Information and Inpatient Administration Manager. Contact for all patient queries regarding their level of cover and out-of-pocket expenses Ensure maintenance of accurate and current information within the Patient Administration systems. You will have an excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to relate to hospital staff, patients, families and medical staff. To succeed you will have experience with hospital patient administration systems and availability to work shifts scheduled between 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Monday to Sunday between 2 locations : Berwick Kangan Drive & Langmore Centre Above all, you must have a willingness and capacity to embrace our Mission and Values.
