The role focuses on platform migrations, data protection, disaster recovery, and broader Microsoft ecosystem initiatives. Key Responsibilities Migrate VMware to Microsoft Hypervisor: 18 ROBO/remote site hosts (migrated first) 5 Production and 5 DR hosts Re-architect Veeam data protection Redesign and test Disaster Recovery plans Support data protection hardware refresh (storage refresh or redesign) Assist with NZ office relocations, including server and data migrations General infrastructure tasks: Server decommissioning and hosting rationalisation Data migrations and data centre tidy-ups Identity and access work: Okta to Entra ID SSO/SAML application migrations Assess migration of Windows Update management from MECM to Azure Update Manager Contribute to an ongoing EUC Modern Management program (Microsoft Intune experience desirable) Skills & Experience Strong Systems Engineering background VMware and Microsoft Hypervisor migration experience Veeam backup and recovery DR planning and testing Microsoft server technologies Desirable skills: Intune, Entra ID, Azure Update Manager Before we jump into the responsibilities of the role.
